Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 13 | 9:30 & 11:00 a.m. | Sanctuary

On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Our kids process through the services, waving their palm branches and shouting "Hosanna" as we begin the Holy Week journey with Jesus from his entry to Jerusalem, to his last supper with his disciples, to his crucifixion, and ultimately to his defeat of death and resurrection.
Our 11:00 a.m. service on Palm Sunday will also be our Confirmation Service, where our sixth-grade class will profess their faith and take their vows of membership.

Maundy Thursday Meal & Communion

Thursday, April 17 | 6:00 p.m. | Thomas Hall (Sanctuary Building, Level 1)

$5.00 per person

On Maundy Thursday, we gather in Thomas Hall to share in a meal and in Holy Communion. Communion itself is an act of community, and in gathering together as the disciples did on the night Jesus was betrayed, we continue our Holy Week journey into the last days of Jesus before his crucifixion.
As space is limited, this is a ticketed event. If you wish to pay at the door by cash or check, please email to reserve your spot. This is an interactive family event and as such, childcare is not available. The food line will open at 5:50 p.m.

Good Friday: Tenebrae Service of Darkness

Friday, April 18 | 7:00 p.m. | Sanctuary

Before celebrating Jesus' ultimate defeat of death and resurrection, we must enter the tomb with him. We must feel the weight of the life humanity has lived that Christ took upon his shoulders in our place. Our Tenebrae Service of Darkness takes us on the final steps of the journey as Jesus goes from the garden to the cross to the grave.

Easter Celebrations

Sunday, April 20

  • 9:00 a.m. | Traditional Celebration | First Methodist Sanctuary
  • 11:00 a.m. | Modern Celebration | First Methodist Sanctuary
If the cross of Jesus was the end of the story (as most thought it was), the human situation is far more bleak than we ever imagined. But it wasn’t the end. When Jesus rose from the dead, it showed us that we are more loved than we ever dreamed. When you truly understand the message of Easter, you'll find things will never be the same.
We invite you to use this Easter as an opportunity to bring someone into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. Choose a service that fits you, and together we'll celebrate the risen savior.
