Lenten Fast

Fridays, February 20-April 3

The practice of fasting has been a part of Christian discipleship from the very beginning. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “And when you fast…” in Matthew 6:16. The church is a fasting community.
Lent has traditionally been a season of fasting in the church. Many people give up things during Lent, but this year we want to do something different. We want to call the church to fast. Join us in fasting on Fridays during Lent. We will eat supper on Thursday night and not again until Friday at supper. As we go to bed, as we rise, and as we go through the day on Friday, we will pray. We will pray for our church, for the lost, for ourselves, and most of all, we will pray for God to come and meet us.
Make a commitment during Lent to fast on Fridays and register today to let us know you’re joining us!
