Upward Basketball is part of Upward Sports, a Christian youth sports ministry whose aim is more than just playing games. Founded in 1995 by Caz McCaslin, Upward Sports partners with local churches to offer sports leagues (including basketball) that integrate faith, character, and athletic development.
Because of the faith integration, the entire environment aims to reflect Christian values: in how coaches behave, how players treat each other, how wins and losses are handled, and how respect is shown.
Upward is an opportunity for our church to show hospitality to the community as they come to our facility for practices and games. It's also a great opportunity for church members to get involved as prayer partners or even coaches.
