Afghan Hospitality Ministry

First Methodist Tulsa has made a long-term commitment to come alongside Afghan families to show our hospitality and assist them through the transition to living in the United States.
Serve By Assisting Afghan Refugees as They Transition to Life in Tulsa...
The Afghan Hospitality Ministry is a wonderful way to serve with refugees as they need assistance in their resettlement.  The Afghan community is extremely grateful for our help.  You will be equally blessed by serving in this ministry.
Serving can be short term needs or long-term relationship.
There are several specific needs including:
  • Transporting families to Oklahoma City for immigration meetings. Drivers may use our church van.
  • Childcare during ESL classes. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:00–11:30 a.m.
  • Help females learning to drive with practicing driving.
  • Transportation to/from various appointments including the initial two weeks of a new job. Days/times vary.
